Dragon Boat for Beginners is a monthly drop-in session by the Scugog Dragon Boat Club. Dragon boats can fit 10-20 paddlers, and are directed by a qualified steersperson. Paddling can be leisurely or competitive...for these sessions we'll keep it light and fun, with lots of opportunity to learn!

Come learn how to paddle in a dragon boat on Lake Scugog!
Dragon Boat for Beginners is a monthly drop-in session by the Scugog Dragon Boat Club. Dragon boats can fit 10-20 paddlers, and are directed by a qualified steersperson. Paddling can be leisurely or competitive...for these sessions we'll keep it light and fun, with lots of opportunity to learn new skills.
These sessions are great for anyone who likes the water, and wants to try something new! No experience is required, and we provide all the equipment (life jackets and paddles).
Our coaches will teach you how to safely get in the boat, the proper dragon boat technique. and boat commands. We'll spend the first 15 minutes getting equipment and loading the boat, followed by 45 minutes on the water. There will be plenty of time to take breaks for water, to snap pics of our beautiful lake,…
