About the event
Members of the creative community are invited to participate in Energize! A Multi-arts Symposium on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Scugog Community Recreation Centre in Port Perry, Ontario. The full day program of speakers, workshops and entertainment is designed for people in all areas of the arts: dance, music, visual art, theatre, craft, arts and culture workers, digital arts etc.
Morning speakers from various artistic backgrounds will share their expertise, their own challenges and creative problem solving solutions and engage with audience members. Confirmed speakers include expressive arts therapist and arts educator Georgia Fullerton, award-winning poet, author and speaker Greg Frankson and local contemporary, visionary artist Lynne McIlvride.
Participants will be able to choose two discussion groups or hands-on workshops in the afternoon to enjoy a new experience and get the creative juices flowing. To close out the day, attendees will be captivated by the artistry of Aysanabee who is an Oji-Cree singer songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who uses folk, soul and alt-pop to tell stories about his life, his lived experience and reconnecting with his roots.
“I am thrilled to be working with Scugog Arts on this important opportunity for members of the creative community to learn, connect and build resiliency as we all navigate these challenging times” says symposium manager Roz Pritchard.
Tickets for the day-long symposium cost $50 each and include refreshments and a delicious lunch. If you are experiencing financial hardship as a barrier to attending, please contact Roz in confidence at the email listed below.
